Can You Take IPC Exams One Module at a Time?
Oct 30, 2026
Yes. IPC CIS and CIT certification exams are modular, and with ElectroSpec you can schedule each module separately, online, at times that fit your work.
Why IPC exams are modular
CIS and CIT certifications are divided into modules that follow the sections of the standard. Each module is tested and scored on its own, and each must be passed individually.
How scheduling works
When you're ready, you schedule your exams from inside your course. Each module is taken online with a certified ElectroSpec instructor. You don't need to travel, and you don't need several days in a row away from production.
Why this helps
- Less disruption at work. Test before a shift, after a shift or on a quiet afternoon.
- Better focus. Study one module, then test it while it's fresh.
- Easier for teams. Spread exams out so a line never loses all its people at once.
A study rhythm that works
- Finish the lessons for one module.
- Do the practice questions until you're comfortable.
- Schedule and take that module's exam.
- Move on to the next module.
What if you don't pass a module?
Because modules are separate, you only retest the module you missed, not the whole exam. The first retake is typically included.
