What You’ll Walk Away With
The Recognized Standard for Technical Authority
Your official IPC/WHMA-A-620 CSE certification establishes you as your facility's designated technical authority on workmanship standards — recognized by OEMs, EMS providers, and high-reliability manufacturers worldwide. Add it to your credentials the day you pass.
The Ability to Interpret, Defend, and Apply the Standard
Move beyond applying IPC/WHMA-A-620 criteria to owning them. Interpret requirements, resolve workmanship disputes, guide process decisions, and represent your organization's standards program with a credential that carries weight in audits and customer source inspections.
A Stronger Position in Engineering and Quality Leadership
CSE certification is the documented qualification that quality engineers, compliance leads, and standards professionals use to demonstrate deep IPC/WHMA-A-620 authority, and that high-reliability manufacturers increasingly require from technical staff.
Two Years Before Recertification Is Even a Concern
Your CSE certification is valid for two years. When recertification comes around, ElectroSpec makes it straightforward — same flexible process, no classroom required, and no need to start over from scratch, whether you originally certified with us or not.
Why Professionals Choose ElectroSpec
01
Clear Path to Certification
You'll know exactly where you stand before you sit for either component of the CSE exam. ElectroSpec's preparation system is built around the actual CSE exam structure — so instead of guessing whether you're ready, you'll have the practice results to confirm it before the exam starts.
02
Flexible Preparation Without Disrupting Responsibilities
Study before your shift, after hours, or on weekends — and schedule your exam components on the dates and times that work around your engineering and quality calendar. No consecutive days off, no scheduling conflicts, no disruption to your team.
03
Built for Wire Harness Standards Professionals
Every concept in ElectroSpec's preparation system connects directly to what CSE candidates are tested on — wire harness fabrication criteria, cable assembly workmanship, crimping and splicing acceptability, connector requirements, and the standards interpretation depth required to serve as your organization's IPC/WHMA-A-620 authority.
04
Real Answers When You're Stuck
When a concept isn't clicking, you get direct access to a practicing engineer and Master IPC Trainer with graduate-level credentials and real-world high-reliability manufacturing experience — not a help desk script from a customer service rep. Questions typically answered within one business day.
What's Inside Each Track
Every track includes the official IPC CSE exam and a free retake per exam component. Here's what's in each track.
Included in Every Track
Official IPC CSE Exam — Open-Book & Closed-Book Components
The CSE exam consists of two components — an open-book exam of approximately 75 multiple-choice questions covering the full IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard, and a closed-book exam of approximately 25 questions. Both components must be completed within a 2.5-hour window. Both are remotely proctored and can be scheduled across multiple days at your convenience.
Free Exam Retake For Each Component
If you don't pass the open-book and closed-book exams on your first attempt, one free retake of each is included. Note that IPC requires a minimum 14-day waiting period before retesting — plan your preparation accordingly and use the practice questions to confirm you're ready before scheduling.
Flexible Remote Exam Scheduling
Any date, any time, any time zone — with as little as one business day's notice. Schedule each component separately if needed.
Instructor Email Support
Direct line to a practicing engineer with graduate-level credentials and real-world high-reliability manufacturing experience. Real answers, not a help desk script. Typically within one business day.
